Lithodora & Onosma (Mediterranean species)

Mediterranean Lithodora & Onosma species belong to diverse genera with annual to perennial woody sub-shrubs. They are usually native of rocky, open spots and make showy, bright colored flowers above bristly haired leaves. Preferably grow as pot plants in any rich, well drained soil under frostfree conditions at a minimum of some 5°C in a sunny spot throughout the year.
Sow seeds flat on any rich, very well drained soil. Keep pots in a sunny spot at a minimum of some 15°C throughout the year and always carefully water from beneath.
All are USDA Climate Zone 8.

40 (70)cm, a dwarf shrub with a woody base from the Borage family (Boraginaceae) with pendulous pale yellow flowers fading to orange brown with age. Native of rocky soils in sunny spots in lower mountainous areas on Cyprus. For any rich, well drained substrate in pots. Not winter hardy, keep plants drier in winter in full sun at a minimum of some 10°C. VI-VII.
