Zinnia is a small genus with only some 20 annual to perennials species native from South-Western North America to South America with a focus in Mexico. The have showy, bright colored flowers above opposite leaves. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Excellent in the rock garden. Sow seeds flat on any rich, well drained soil from autumn to mid spring. Keep pots in a protected spot outside. Carefully transplant young plants to the final spot in the garden as soon as they are strong enough. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package. |
