Jacaranda are tall, erect shrubs or lax trees with attractive, Mimosa like foliage and numerous flowers in dense racemes in bright colors. A very floriferous genus. If grown as container plants in a heated greenhouse or wintergarden, they may start to flower at an height of only 2m. All species in this genus require a rather well drained, yet humus rich soil in a sunny spot and a minimum of 15°C in winter with reduced watering. Some may partly shed leaves in winter and will start to grow again in late spring. Sow seeds flat in any well drained, rather sandy or rocky soil containing some humus. Keep pots at a minimum of some 20°C in a sunny spot. 20 seeds per package. |
