Amianthium, Anticlea, Stenanthium, Toxicoscordion & Zigadenus (Deathcamas)

Deathcamas are perennial bulbs close to Veratrum (Germer) and native to moist prairies in North America. The old genus Zigadenus has been recently split up into several new genera: Amianthium, Anticlea, Stenanthium, Toxicoscordion, and former Zigadenus. All make grass-like leaves and lose racemes of cream white to greenish-white starflowers. For any rather humus rich, always slightly moist soil in a preferably partially shaded spot.
Sow flat in any humus rich, well drained, slightly moist soil in partial shade. Cultivate in pots for two years, transplant young bulbs after leaves have withered in autumn.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
