Cotton Lavender belong to a small genus from the western Mediterranean and North Africa, where they occur in open, rocky spots in full sun. They are evergreen perennial dwarf shrubs with usually silvery-grey, narrow and extremely fragrant foliage. All are ornamental plants for any rich, well drained soil in a sunny and protected spot, excellent in the rock garden. In very cold regions preferably grow in pots under frostfree conditions at a minimum of some 10°C, drier and in full sun during winter. Sow on top of any rich, very well drained soil at some 20°C throughout the year. Keep seedlings in full sun and preferably under frostfree conditions until they are strong enough to be planted to the final spot in the garden. All are USDA Climate Zone 7. 20 seeds per package. |
