Forget-Me-Nots are native throughout the world in temperate regions with a focus of diversication in New Zealand. They are annuals or perennials with usually pale to intense bluish, sometimes bright pink flowers with a yellow heart on lax racemes and a basal rosette of slightly coarse leaves. Easily cultivated in a humus rich, slightly moist soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. All winter hardy species will readily selfsow under appropiate conditions, but will never become weedy. Sow flat in any humus rich, well drained, always sligthly moist soil from spring to early autumn. Do not cover seeds with soil and keep pots in a protected, sunny spot. Carefully transplant small seedlings as soon as they are strong enough. For their size forget-me-nots can be ongrown in their sowing pots as well. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package. |
