Ajwain is native of the Middle East and in appearance similar to parsley with greyish-green seeds which are used as a spice in several parts of Asia and Egypt. They have a strong thyme-like fragrance and taste. Seeds are used in small quantities either raw or roasted. Plants are grown as annuals in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow seeds flat directly in any well drained, humus-rich soil in a sunny site in the garden in spring. Cover seeds only slightly with soil. 50 seeds per package. |
