Trefoils is a broad genus of annual, biannual or perennial species which can be found throughout the world. Most species have a weedy habit and are used as forage plants for livestock. Several perennial species from the Canary island and the Cape Verde archipelago have showy, quite large, bright colored flowers and are used as ornamental plants in gardens in warmer regions. For any rich, well drained, rocky soil in full sun throughout the year. Keep plants drier in winter in full sun and at a minimum of some 15°C. Sow small seeds flat on any very well drained, rock-sandy soil. Slightly cover seeds with soil and place pots in a sunny spot. Keep seedlings only slightly moist from beneath and carefully transplant after the second pair of leaves. 20 seeds per package. |
