Bluestars are generally easily grown in a sunny position in the rockery garden or any well drained spot with good water supply in spring and early summer. All Scilla species will form nice clumps with numerous flowering stalks in time. Sow flat autumn to late spring in any well drained, rocky or sandy, but humus rich soil. Keep pots in a sheltered and sunny spot in winter. Transplant young bulbs best in fall of their second year. Most Scilla will flower in their third year.
