Pavonia missionum (Red Pavonia)

30 (50)cm, Red Pavonia is an ornamental small perennial from South America (southern Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay). It has broad lanceolate, slightly lobed leaves and showy, bright orange-red flowers. It is usually mistaken for the very similar Pavonia rubra which is not in cultivation. For any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep drier at a minimum of some 15°C. V-VIII.
