40 (60)cm, Red Hummingbird Petunia is an utmost showy wild Petunia species from southern Brazil where it is close to extinction with just a dozen of true-to-type plants left in habitat. It is the only Petunia species which is pollinated by hummingbirds. A very floriferous and fast growing annual species with somewhat trailing stems and numerous bright red flowers throughout summer. Easily cutivated in pots in any rich, well drained soil in a preferably partially shaded spot at a minimum of some 20°C. Seeds are from unhybridized true-to-type plants. V-IX. |
