Iris fulva (Copper Iris)

80 (120)cm, Copper Iris or Red Louisiana Iris is native of marshy places and wetlands in Southern North America (Mississippi Valley from Louisiana north to southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois) and makes showy flowers with an unreal copper color above sword-shaped bright green leaves. Easily cultivated in any humus rich, always moist soil in a sunny spot. Ideal for a border planting at ponds and water courses. Iris fulva appears to be very reluctant in setting seeds in cultivation. We have been growing this species for more than ten years, and it is the first time that our plants successfully developed two capsules. Only 6 packages are available for 2023. IV-V.
