Tragopogon porrifolius ssp. australis (Cretan Goatsbeard)

30 (45)cm, Cretan Goatsbeard is a perennial species from sunny meadows on Crete, Greece and has narrow leaves and a pale violet flower head, followed by showy, large ball like seed heads. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny and preferably protected spot. An excellent plant for the rock garden. IV-VI.
