Desmanthus illinoensis (Illinois Bundle Flower)

40 (100)cm, Illinois Bundle Flower is a herbaceous perennial with most ornamental double compound leaves, which give it a fernlike appearance. The white, ball-like flowers are axillary born. It is native of dry prairies and meadows throughout most of the USA (Alabama to Texas, north to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Colorado). Easily grown in a rich, well drained soil in full sun spot. VII-VIII.

IMPORTANT: This particular seed batch may be greatly impurified with seeds from Desmodium illinoensis. Seedlings can be easily told apart: first leaves in Desmodium illinoensis are entire, whereas in Desmanthus illinoensis these are already feathered.
