40cm, late flowering species from Central America. Makes numerous bright rose flowers above lanceolate, serrated leaves. For a well drained, sandy to rocky soil in a protected spot in full sun. An semi-perennial nigthprimrose which usually grows as an annual in colder climates, will readily self-sow under good conditions. Seedlings are fast growing. VII-IX.
