Oxytropis besseyi var. argophylla (Montana Locoweed)

15cm, Montana Locoweed makes a dense cushion of small feathered, greyish-green, hairy leaves and showy bright magenta-pink flowers. For any rich, well drained and rather rocky soil in a protected spot in full sun. An excellent plant for the rock garden. In wetter areas preferably grow under cold glass with protection from excessive winter wetness. Seeds from a certified wild collection in Beaverhead County, Montana, USA, at some 1.900m. VI-VIII.
