Clarkia purpurea (Winecup Clarkia)

60 (100)cm, Winecup Clarkia is an annual species from western North America. It has small deep violet to pink flower cups on an upright stalk with lance-shaped leaves on reddish stems. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny and protected spot in the garden. Sow fine seed flat directly to the ground in the garden in mid spring. VII-VIII.
