A highly ornamental plant from dry mountain sites in central Chile (La Campana National Park and Vilches Alto National Park at some 1.400m). It makes a basal brownish red spathe with a nodding tip, hiding a short spadix inside. It has palmately divided leaves. For any humus rich, very well drained susbtrate in a sunny spot.
