La Palma plants (eastern ridge of the Caldera de Taburiente, 1500m) have shorter and rather pale rose inflorescences whereas those from Gran Canaria (east of Roque Grande, Los Marteles, 950m) are taller and have longer, rich lilac pink inflorescences. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Plants from both populations are fully winter hardy in Central Europe. VI-VIII.
