It has edible, large, elongated reddish orange, orange to yellowish green skinned (our seeds) fruits with a pale yellow to orange flesh, which has a very pleasant melon-like taste in ripe fruits. Fruits can be stored for a very long time, the flesh of unripe fruits is cooked or baked and served as a side-dish.
