Aeonium glandulosum

Aeonium glandulosum

25 (40)cm ø, one out of two Aeonium species which are endemic of Madeira. It prefers shaded to sunny spots on vertical cliffs in especially the North of the island and few areas in the southern part. It is very alike Aeonium tabuliforme and belongs to the same subgenus within Aeonium (Canariensae). In comparison to the latter its' leaves are broader and rhombic at the end, and it usually produces a couple of offsets. They will gain up to 40 cm ø with a yellowish inflorescence of up to 30 cm in height. V-VII.

Aeonium glutinosum

Aeonium glutinosum

20cm ø, one of the two known species from the Madeiran archipelago, and related to Aeonium nobile from La Palma. It is a very ornamental species from open, sunny spots on cliffs and rocky soils. It produces lax and large rosettes (up to 20cm in diameter). This species offsetts freely at an already young stage, and makes a lax, orange-yellow inflorescence. Leaves are dark green, broadly spathulate and very sticky (hence its name !). V-VII.

Aeonium korneliuslemsii

Aeonium korneliuslemsii

100 (150)cm, the real species from western Morocco and not the red-leafed cultivar, commonly sold under this name by most nurseries. It is looking very similar to Aeonium arboreum (Gran Canaria) or Aeonium holochrysum (Tenerife), however, Aeonium korneliuslemsii has more oblongate lanceolate leaves. It produces dome shaped sulphurous yellow inflorescences. II-IV.
