Paris species are close to Trillium and are native from Asia to Europe and N America growing in moist soils in open woods, where they receive plenty of sunlight in spring, but are then shaded in summer. All arise from a tuberous rhizome, creating only one leaf and usually a single flower embedded in the leaflets. Should not be disturbed after planting and will moderately increase. Sow at autumn to spring in any humus rich soil, which holds back moisture. Pre-cultivation for 2 years, transplant rhizomes in autumn when plants are dormant. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package if not stated differently. |
