Jewelweed are native of humus rich soils in sunny, open spots in woods in North America, Africa and Asia. They are fast-growing annuals, biennials to perennials with upright stems crowned by lose racemes of rose, yellowor bright orange flowers. All can be easily grown in any rich, well-drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Sow seeds flat in any rich, well drained soil. Keep pots in a sunny, protected spot outside. Transplant seedlings to the final spot in the garden as soon as plants are strong enough. Alternatively sow directly to the ground at the end of spring. Under suitable conditons plants will readily self-sow. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package.. |
