Mimulus (Monkey Flower)

Monkey Flowers are native of humus rich, slightly moist soils along side streams and in sunny spot in woods in North America. They grow as annual to semi-perennials and make numerous showy flowers in various colors. All species are easily raised in a rich, well-drained, preferably slightly moits soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot.
Sow the dustlike seeds flat on any rich, well drained soil. Do not cover seeds with soil and keep pots in a sunny, protected spot outside. Transplant seedlings to the garden as soon as they are strong enough. Under suitable conditions plants will readily self-sow. Ideal for a slightly moist edge at a pond.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
