Vervains make up a broad genus of mostly perennials from the northern hemisphere and South America. They make sometimes tall upright growing stalks topped by a dense inflorescence of numerous rich pink flowers. All are easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Annual species will readily self sow under appropriate conditions. Sow seeds flat in any rich, well drained soil and keep pots outside in a protected spot. Seeds require a prolonged cooling period prior to germination in late spring. Carefully transplant young plants to the final spot in the garden as soon as they are strong enough. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 50 seeds per package. |
