Sinapodendron (Madeira Wallflower)

Madeira Wallflower are woody sub shrubs with somewhat slightly succulent leaves and allied to Erysimum and Matthiola (see above), growing in dryish, rocky soils in exposed spots at lower altitudes on Madeira. They make tall upright racemes with bright yellow to yellow-orange flowers. For any well drained soil in a sunny spot. Keep drier in winter at a minimum of some 10°C.
Sow in any rich, well drained soil in full sun. Keep soils always slightly moist until germination, after that keep drier.

70 (110)cm, attractive, leathery, slightly succulent, glabrous, dark green, serrated leaves, tinged purplish in full sun on a woody, grayish, quite broad stem and upright long racemes of numerous dark yellow flowers. From open spots in rocky soils in the succulent zone of coastal areas in northern Madeira. Easy in any well drained soil in a sunny spot. Keep drier at min. 10°C in winter. V-VII.
