Poppies are usually annuals or biennials, some species offered here are long lived perennials making a dense rootstock in time. Larger perennials are best grown as solitary plants to enjoy them in their whole beauty. All are easily grown in a sunny spot in any well drained soil. Do not cover the dust like seeds, sow at a minimum of some 5°C, preferably from late spring to early summer. Annual species are best sowed directly to the open ground in late spring on top of any rich, yet well drained soil in a sunny spot. Seedlings (rhizomes) from perennial species are carefully transplanted in autumn or as soon as they are strong enough. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 50 seeds per package. |
