Roses are a very broad genus with several hundred of species usually found in temperate regions throughout the world. They grow as woody shrubs with showy white, rose, red to orange flowers which are fragrant in several species. Many species have showy bright colored orange to dark red fruits in late autumn and winter. All are easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Sow seeds flat in any humus rich, preferably slightly sandy soil. Keep pots in a protected spot outside during winter. Seeds require a prolonged cooling period prior to germination which will occur with rising temperatures in late spring. All are USDA Climate Zone 6. 20 seeds per package. |
