Perezia are annual or perennial members within the daisy family (Asteraceae) and native from Central to South America. Several species from high altitutes are fully winter hardy in Central Europe. By far the showiest perennial species is Perezia multiflora from southern Brazil. It makes a dense basal leaf rosette and a central, terminally branching inflorescence with numerous bright lavender blue flower heads with a yellow center. Easily grown in any rich, well drain soil in a sunny and protected spot. Sow flat in any rich, well drained soil. Keep pots in a sunny and protected spot outside. Transplant in early summer as soon as seedlings are strong enough. All are USDA Climate Zone 7. 20 seeds per package. |
