Bellevalia (Grape Hyacinth)

Bellevalia is close to the real grape hyacinths (Muscari spp.), but leaves are usually broader and often visibly veined. A good genus for the rock garden. Plant in any rich, well drained soil in full to partial shade.
Sow flat preferably autumn to late spring in any well drained, rocky or sandy soil. Keep pots in a sheltered and sunny spot in winter. Transplant young bulbs best in fall of their second year. Most Bellevalia species will start to flower in their third year after sowing.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
