20cm, an unidentified, showy species with a 12cm ø basal rosette with succulent leaves with entire margins on a short woody stem and elongated inflorescences. From steep coastal cliffs in northern Madeira, where it is found only very locally. Plantago aschersonii (syn. Plantago coronopus) is a distinct species with broadly serrated leaves and rosettes without any stem. Plantago spec. 001 (Madeira) might be a subspecies from Plantago aschersonii or even new species.
