2 (5)m, Korean Pepper Tree is a rare deciduous, tall woody shrub from Korea and Western China. It is dioecious (i.e. female and male flowers are born on separate plants) and has a spiny trunk and aromatic, feathered foliage. The small inconspicuous female flowers are followed by strongly aromatic orange-red fruits, which have a biting pepper-like, numbing taste which lasts for hours, thus use only in very small quantities! If fruits are required, both female and male plants hve to be grown close to each other. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. V-VI. 20 seeds per package.
