180 (300)cm, Orange Mandrinette Hibiscus is a rare and endangered, evergreen wild species from the Mascarene islands (Réunion and Mauritius) with glossy dark green leaves and ornamental, bright orange-red flowers. Easily grown in any rich, well drained substrate in full sun throughout the year and reduced watering in winter at a minimum of 20°C. Seeds are from a population on La Réunion island. Seeds from all Hibiscus species in section Lilibiscus (e.g Hibiscus arnottianus, Hibiscus cooperi, Hibiscus denisonii, Hibiscus fragilis, Hibiscus genevii, etc. ) germinate unevenly over a period of several months. Keep pots in a warm spot and the soil slightlly moist until germination will occur. Offered seeds are from our own true-to-type and hand pollinated plants. VI-X. |
