Primula auricula (Mountain Cowslip)

20cm, Mountain Cowslip is native of limestone soils in the Alps. It makes a loose leaf rosette of somewhat fleshy, more or less farinose (i.e. powdery), quite large, pale green leaves on strong short stems and suphur yellow, slightly vanilla scented flowers with a white-throat. For any rich, very well drained soil in full sun. Excellent in the rock garden. IV-V.
