Gladiolus huttonii

25 (35)cm, a smaller species from sandstone slopes in the southeastern Cape region in South Africa. Gladiolus huttoni has showy bright orange flowers with or without a yellowish-orange throat and yellowish streaks on the petals. It is a winter flowering species easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot and a winter minimum of some 10°C, when plants should be kept in full sun and be watered carefully.
