The smell is almost as monarda citriodora(one time i even smelled a sweet chocolate overtone). i like it! i think this is indeed rare! i have a book that says nothing about a thymol(is found in thyme, monarda etc) longifolia mint. this is a very valuable cultivar!
i was unsure i should buy this. but has a high germination rate and the smell...i'll deal with it later. i recommend this! gooooood buy!
Annontation by www.rareplants.de: The smell is indeed not quite of the pleasant ones, yet this subspecies is very floriferous and easy going - something for the eyes.
