Penstemon perpulcher (Minidoka Beardtongue)

50 (90)cm, Minidoka Beardtongue is a showy and vulnerable species with brilliant blue to sometimes purplish blue flowers. Penstemon perpulcher is native of sandy to loamy soils in grass plains and open spots in sagebrush formations on hillsides in Idaho and Oregon, USA. For any rich, very well drained soil in a sunny spot. Excellent in a protected spot in the rock garden. V-VII.
